Community input contributes to Islam Centre renovation
Islam Care Centre
The Islam Care Centre is planning a redevelopment of its Lisgar Street property. The Islam Care Centre, a downtown resource centre and prayer space for Ottawa Muslims, invited input from the community in an open consultation last Saturday as ICC officials plan an ambitious redevelopment of their Lisgar Street property to create space for up to 600 worshippers.

Meaghan Murphy, an Ottawa Riverkeeper scientist, is the author of a study about the environmental impact of fireworks.Firework displays have become a huge attraction in downtown Ottawa over the past 20 years. And with 1,500 shells going off each show, Ottawa Riverkeeper says it is important that proper measures are taken to clean up the byproducts of these fireworks.
