Several Centretown streets will be closed for the 34th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday.
Although the parade doesn’t officially start until 11 a.m., Laurier Avenue between Nicholas Street and Elgin Street will be closed as of 7:30 a.m. for set-up purposes.
The parade will start at Ottawa City Hall, travelling west on Laurier Avenue, and will turn left on Bank Street to end at Marché Way near Lansdowne Park.
Businesses at Lansdowne will remain open throughout the parade.
Motorists can access the site either from Queen Elizabeth Driveway, or if approaching from the south along Bank Street, at Exhibition Way.
The parking entrance to Ottawa City Hall on Elgin Street will be open as usual, although the Laurier Avenue entrance will be closed between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Roads are expected to reopen once the parade passes, which is estimated to be around 1 p.m.
