The Senior Citizens Council of Ottawa is offering free income tax clinics for persons with an income below $25,000. This includes senior citizens, persons with disabilities, single parents, the unemployed and low-income earners. The returns will be completed by a volunteer chartered accountant. Seedy Saturday will be heldfrom 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, Britannia Park. The vent will feature an organic seed exchange and sale, an organic mini-market, gardening workshops, and organic food and snacks. The Ottawa Catholic School Board’s Children’s Choir, e Ottawa Children’s Choir and the Baobab Youth Performers present The Power of Music, an afternoon of songs, drumming and dance, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Francois D’Assise Church, Fairmont and Wellington streets. Friends of the Central Experimental Farm is sponsoring an escorted, all-inclusive road trip to the Canada Blooms Show in Toronto. Price for FCEF members (double occupancy) is $225, non-members $265. The Ottawa Region Branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association, in conjunction with the University of Ottawa, will present a master class with pianist Andrew Tunis from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Freiman Hall, Perez Bldg., University of University Ottawa. The auxiliary of the Ottawa Humane Society meets at 1:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Real Canadian Superstore (Loblaws), 190 Richmond Rd. New members welcome. The auxiliary raises money to help the animals at the shelter and has a very active craft circle. For ore information, contact Diane Bartlett-Fraser at 613-836-1492.

The Glebe Centre, 950 Bank St., is seeking mature volunteers to operate its gift shop and commit one day a week (Monday, Wednesday or Friday) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Volunteer positions are also available on an on-call/casual basis. The centre is also seeking volunteers to greet and welcome residents, families and visitors as a main reception hostess.
