Centretown elementary schools rank low in annual report

Out of the total 2,742 schools graded, Elgin Street Public School ranked 1,285, St. Anthony Elementary School ranked 2,146, followed by Centennial Public School at 2,686.

“These detailed results provide parents with the information they need to ask the principal at their children’s school important questions about a school’s performance,” said Peter Cowley, the Fraser Institute’s director of school performance studies.

“The report card is the only easily accessible, objective tool that helps parents assess the performance of their child’s school,” he said.

The Fraser Institute is a Canadian research think tank, founded in 1974. They say their elementary school report card “assists parents when they choose a school for their children and encourages and assists all those seeking to improve their schools.
