Homan snags silver at world curling juniors

Rachel Homan and her team will be bringing home the silver medal, after losing to Sweden in the junior women’s final at the World Junior Curling Championships today.

Sweden defeated Homan’s Ottawa team 8-3.

Homan, along with Emma Miskew, Laura Crocker and Lynn Kreviazuk, started off strong in the final, but Swedish skip Anna Hasselborg turned the game around in the sixth end.  Sweden took a point in the sixth end, two steals of two in the seventh and eighth, and a final steal of one in the ninth end, bringing the score to 8-3 to win the gold medal.

Homan’s team had a very strong performance throughout the round robin and playoffs stage of the championships – losing only one match on the road to the final.
