In Somerset Ward, eight-term councillor Diane Holmes will be challenged by three rookie candidates: Don Fex, Barkley Pollock and Susan Miller.
In both the French Catholic and French Public boards, Centretown candidates will win by acclamation. Jean-Paul Lafond will continue for a seventh term representing the French-Public board and Diane Doré will stay on for a third term as the trustee for Centretown’s French-Catholic board.
Last-minute nominations in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and the Ottawa Catholic District School Board trustee races will challenge incumbent trsutess.
Jennifer McKenzie, who just completed her first term on the public school board, faces Megan Carroll in Somerset-Kitchissippi.
Two newcomers, Megan Crowe and Tom Duggan, are running against 25-year veteran Therese Maloney Cousineau for the English Catholic School Board.
In the mayoral race, incumbent Larry O’Brien faces Jim Watson, Clive Doucet, Cesar Bello, Idris Ben-Tahir, Joseph Furtenbacher, Robert G. Gauthier, Andrew Haydon, Robert Larter, Robin Lawrance, Vincent M. Libweshya, Fraser Liscumb, Daniel Joseph Lyrette, Mike Maguire, Julio Pita, Sean Ryan, Jane Scharf, Michael St. Arnaud, Charlie Taylor and Samuel Wright.
