City council’s planning committee today approved two controversial development projects in Centretown.
Over the objections of the Ottawa built heritage advisory committee, councilors gave the green-light to a proposal to build a nine-storey condominium at 340 McLeod St. as originally recommended by city staff.
â¨The heritage committee had recommended that the staff report be rejected. However, the planning committee ignored the heritage body’s objections. â¨
The condo is part of a three-phase development. â¨The committee also approved a development at 70 Gloucester St. subject to a zoning bylaw amendment. â¨
Both recommendations will be considered by the full council on June 8.
