Australian Rules Football, or “footy,” is a passion for Centretown resident Kirsten Bodashefsky. Though it’s hard to describe, she says footy is a great game that takes the best elements from other sports.
On Thanksgiving weekend, her team the Ottawa Swans will compete for a national championship. Bodashefsky’s performance at the nationals could earn her a spot on the Canadian women’s team, the Northern Lights, which will play in Australia at an international competition August 2014.
