Police seek male suspect in Little Italy attack

Ottawa police are seeking a male suspect in relation to an attack on a woman that happened Sunday around 9:30 a.m. near Oak and Preston streets.

The woman was grabbed from behind and had her ponytail cut off, according to an Ottawa police press release. She fought off her attacker, who then fled down Preston Street.

The press release said police are seeking a suspect described as a thin white male who stands 6-0. Police say he wore a dark jacket, tuque, and blue jeans.

Police are investigating the incident.
