Environment Canada has released a freezing rain warning for Ottawa.
The freezing rain is expected to hit Wednesday evening, when temperatures will hover around freezing, and last until Thursday morning.
The warm front filled with moisture will bring rain and boost the temperature to a high of 8 C Thursday, according to Environment Canada.
Drivers are advised to prepare for slippery road conditions tonight and tomorrow morning. Ottawa police issued tips for driving in freezing rain, including keeping a safe distance between vehicles to allow extra time to stop.
