After a brief respite last week, winter is back in full force with yet another frostbite advisory in effect from tonight until Tuesday.
Ottawa Public Health issued the advisory with temperatures expected to drop down to -16 C overnight, with winds gusting up to 50 km/h.
Temperatures are expected to stay below zero until Wednesday. Thursday has a predicted high of 1 C.
This latest advisory brings the city’s tally this winter up to six frostbite warnings and 15 frostbite advisories.
The lowest recorded temperature in March was – 37 C on March 4, 1938. The average temperature for March normally hovers around – 2 C.
