The City of Ottawa has issued a reminder that overnight parking restrictions will be in effect across the city starting November 15.
The announcement stated that the restrictions are in place to “ensure that the city’s snow-clearing crews are able to keep Ottawa’s roads safe and clear for pedestrians, cyclists, public transit and motorists.”
During that time, vehicles that are parked on the street will be ticketed unless they have a municipal on-street parking permit.
Temporary “no parking” signs will be also posted when day or nighttime snow removal operations are planned.
Vehicles parked in the way of snow removal will be ticketed and towed to a nearby street, regardless of whether or not they have a municipal on-street parking permit.
The restrictions are automatically enacted unless the city’s general manager of public works issues an exemption.
Restrictions will be in place until April 1.
Information on overnight parking restrictions is available at ottawa.ca and by phone at 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401).
