Santa Claus parade to cause minor traffic delays

Drivers traveling through the city core this Saturday might find themselves encountering a parade as Santa Claus comes to town.

The 2014 Help Santa Toy Parade will take over portions of Centretown from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 22.

The City of Ottawa has issued a public service announcement to motorists advising them to expect delays due to temporary road closures for the parade.

The closures will include the eastbound lanes on Wellington Street and Bank Street, Bank Street from Wellington Street to Laurier Avenue and Laurier Avenue from Bank Street to city hall.

Roads will reopen as the parade passes through.

The parade will begin at the National Archives on Wellington Street, travel east on Wellington, turn right onto Bank Street and then left on Laurier Avenue before ending at city hall.
