While business is thriving at a Centretown storeowner’s native crafts shop, his New York boutique now lies beneath the rubble at ground zero of the World Trade Center attack.
Armed with paintbrushes, power tools, and a vision of community, five of the 29 organizations at the Bronson Centre have left to renovate a new home on Chapel Street.

High schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board are feeling the strain of the Harris government’s cuts to Grade 11 funding, say officials and staff from the board.
“High schools in this area are being affected pretty equally by these cuts, just as they are across the province,” says Centretown trustee Joan Spice. “There is just not enough money for texts.”
There’s nothing finer than enjoying a hot dog and beer, catching some rays and watching a baseball game. Unless, of course, you live in Ottawa.
