If the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists has its way, we may soon see the demise of critical satirical videos, parodies and mash-ups on YouTube and other media platforms.

The Sharps and Flats band has been bringing music to Centretown for decades, but that sound is getting softer. The band, part of The Good Companions Seniors’ Centre, has seen a decline in members and is looking to expand its numbers once more.

The Ottawa Grassroots Festival, a branch of the annual Folk Festival, is expanding to a three-day event in April at Montgomery Legion on Kent Street and other downtown venues. Different from any other festival in Ottawa, it is family friendly, culturally diverse and completely free of charge during the day.
