At the end of Thursday, Ottawa Public Health will temporarily halt H1N1 vaccination clinics, due to a manufacturing slowdown that has led to an inadequate supply of the vaccine nationwide.
Committee approves user fees for green bins
The city planning and environment committee passed a budget that will see Ottawa’s new green bin program paid for through a user fee rather than the general tax base on Tuesday. This means homeowners using the program will have to pay $68 per year if the budget is passed at council next Monday.
MPPs visit Elgin Street school to boost Olympic spirit
Two members of provincial legislature made a special visit to Elgin Street Public School, bearing a large Olympic flag that students signed in celebration and support of Canadian Olympic athletes on Tuesday.
Kylie Fox, Centretown NewsLiberal MPPs Jim Watson and Yasir Naqvi brought an Olympic flag for students to sign Tuesday. The flag will be sent to the Olympic Village in Vancouver.
