While OC Transpo is trying to lay down the law on its transit workers’ absenteeism, the union is fighting back.
The city has settled the lawsuit resulting from the cancellation of the north-south light-rail transit project, by shelling out $36.7 million by the Sept. 30 deadline to the contractors, Siemens/PCL/Dufferin.
Residents expressed their outrage Monday towards a proposed redevelopment plan for Lansdowne Park, which Capital Ward Coun. Clive Doucet called “illegal” at the city’s first public consultation on the controversial project.
Union workers at the Canadian War Museum and the Canadian Museum of Civilization are on strike, protesting low wages and a lack of job security.
