CCCA to hold meeting about safety

Are you concerned about safety in the Elgin Street neighbourhood?

The Centretown Citizens Community Association will be holding a town hall meeting focusing on public safety in the Elgin Street area.

Recent developments such as the decision by Corrections Canada to try and open a Parole Office opposite Elgin Street Elementary School without any public consultation, vandalism, vehicular congestion, winter sidewalk conditions, and noise has a negative impact on the quality of life for the residents of the Elgin Street neighbourhood. read more

This is in response to an article published in your paper on Feb. 11, entitled “Parole Office Move Cost $600K.”

As district director responsible for the Ottawa parole Office, I believe it is imperative that I respond to the concerns raised by community residents in regards to the new location of our Parole Office and to ensure the readers that we have taken and will continue to take their concerns seriously. read more
