The final public consultation on the city’s draft budget at city hall drew only a small group of downtown residents to air their concerns.
Ottawa is set to be the first Canadian municipality to use a new system of paying for parking, one that will allow drivers to pay their fees with a quick wave of their cell phones.
The controversial new venue-booking policy that was set to be implemented at Library and Archives Canada is now being put on hold for another year following complaints from Ottawa community groups about the planned transfer of control over fees and scheduling for the popular event spaces to the federal department of Public Works.
