A proposed extension to the light rail project has some Sparks Street businesses smiling.
The plan would see tracks run along Sparks Street from Hull and from the airport.

Many Centretown community groups are disappointed Somerset regional Coun. Diane Holmes is calling it quits after nearly two decades in office.
First elected to Ottawa city council and regional council in 1982, Holmes announced Jan. 4 she’ll retire when her term is up at the end of this year. The decision has sunk the hearts of many local activists.

Renovations on the Plant Pool have been delayed by at least a year after city budget wrangling cut most of the project’s funding.
The city originally pledged to give $4.2 million to the project, but the amount was decreased to $1 million and placed in a reserve fund, when the budget was approved by city council on Jan. 17.
