Winterlude 2012: Second weekend
Olivier Caron shaves a wooden board using the traditional woodworking tools of the Kettle Boys. Children had the opportunity to chop, shave, and decorate their own pieces of wood during Winterlude.
Ottawans and tourists alike braved the cold, packing the Rideau Canal and Confederation Park for the second weekend of Winterlude. Confederation Park was abuzz with people as concerts, workshops and demonstrations wowed everyone in attendance. This weekend's skaters enjoyed the bright sun on the Rideau Canal, watched the unveiling of new ice sculptures and snacked on BeaverTails and poutines.
