Students from eight Ottawa high schools had the pleasure of carving up powder at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ annual snowboarding festival this year, largely due to one teacher’s determination and dedication to the sport and his students.

Tournament raises city’s minor hockey profile

The Jr. 67s, the Ottawa AAA Senators and the Ottawa Valley Titans represented the city at the 2008 Central Regional Midget AAA Championships earlier this month.

Bonspiel brings curlers from far and wide

Curlers representing 260 teams from Ottawa and around North America participated in the City of Ottawa Men's International Bonspiel. The event was held earlier this month at rinks around the city.
The sound of granite colliding with granite filled the air at 19 different curling clubs in Ottawa and the surrounding area earlier this month, including the Ottawa Curling Club and Rideau Curling Club.

Glebe water polo team making a splash

The Glebe Collegiate Gryphons battled the Sacred Heart Catholic High School Huskies at the Carleton University Pool earlier this month. Glebe won the game 10-1 to improve their record on the season to 9-0. They sit in first place in the league standings.
The Glebe Collegiate Institute girls water polo team has found that the best way to get their friends energized about the sport is by winning.
