Erica Adjei has won the Ottawa Sports Award for boxing for the third time.Six years ago, Erica Adjei was hanging out with a group of male friends. One of those friends happened to have a registration form for Centretown’s Beaver Boxing Club and was saying they should join as a group. Adjei spoke up, agreeing it would be fun to do together, but the friend told her she couldn’t do it because she was female.

People are gathered around tables, chatting loudly while enjoying a post-match beverage. The one characteristic everyone in the room shares: all are over the age of 60.
Ottawa Curling Club to get new equipment

Tom Sinclair is pushing to get new curling stones for the club's O'Connor Street location. The Ottawa Curling Club is set to make major improvements to its 98-year-old home in Centretown in preparation for the club’s centennial celebrations in 2016.
