Terry Fox’s image is immortalized in bronze across the gates of Parliament Hill, forever running towards the west. The plaque beneath his statue, located at the corner of Wellington and Metcalfe streets, reads, “the greatness of the human spirit.”

A gleaming, teapot-like structure sits at the feet of Centretown’s lofty towers.  Pedestrians, buses and cars stream by it at the corner of Kent and Slater streets on their way in and out of the downtown core. Rush hour traffic permits a longer look for those in the street, while curiosity inspires a closer look by more than a few passersby.

Spanning the Ottawa River, Portage Bridge is a symbol of Canada’s history, as well as a significant crossing between Ontario and Quebec.
