Dark alleys and drugs. Prostitutes and pimps. Gangs and guns. Centretown at night is perceived by many as a dangerous place.
Approximately four million Canadians work outside of the nine-to-five workday. Nicole Baute joins the bleary-eyed crew at Dunn’s Famous Deli to find out what it’s like to work the night shift.
It’s just before 11 p.m. on a Saturday night and Centretown Pub is packed. Men and women – but mostly men – sit in the dimly lit pub chatting, laughing and drinking. Every table is taken and several more people lean up against the mirrored walls or the bar.
