A move to accommodate parking on Bank Street is causing confusion for some motorists.
The project, initiated by the City of Ottawa, resulted in the dividing line on the street being changed from a straight line running down the centre to a staggered line veering slightly in and out from the curb.
A few blocks off of Gladstone Avenue is a neighbourhood where every front lawn is tidy.

This is the work of a group of Centretown children, aged four to 14, called the Willow Street Angels. For over two years, the Angels have been picking up litter, planting flowers and decorating for holidays. The group has grown from about 12 children in 1996 to between 30 and 40.
No grass to run on, not one tree to sit under, no jungle gym to play on. Just asphalt bordered by chain-link fence.
That’s what the yard of St. Anthony’s Catholic School on Booth Street looked like when it won the first annual Ugliest School Yard Contest, as part of Earth Day festivities last spring.
Centretown News: What do you think of the (NCC) plan, Metcalfe specifically, and the overall plan for the capital?
Harb: First, there is no plan, there is a vision and a proposal for consultation. So, the NCC has made a proposal for the whole capital region for rebeutification of the area, for changes to some of the existing structures, for putting into place some roads and stuff like that.
