It’s been 25 years since the Montreal Massacre and the anniversary of the Dec. 6, 1989, tragedy was remembered in Ottawa last week with a new, concert-length choral work, Requiem for Fourteen Roses.

Viewpoint: Ebola charity single perpetuates African stereotypes
The video opens with two men in white Hazmat suits entering a dark, sparsely furnished room with concrete walls. The camera follows them to a bedroom, where an emaciated African woman lies still on a bare mattress.
