The Good Companians Centre is holding a car wash this Friday at 670 Alberta Street (across from LeBreton Flats) from 9:30 to 2:30 weather permitting. All proceeds will go the Ottawa United Way.

McLeod-Stewarton United Church, 507 Bank Street at Argyle, will hold a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. Many churches traditionally bless animals on the day commemorating St. Francis of Assisi. All are welcome to bring dogs, cats, rabbits, iguanas, or other pets to be blessed. Pet owners and pets will assemble in the parking lot off Argyle Street.
McPhail Memorial Baptist Church, 249 Bronson Ave., will present “A Celebration of Music” featuring the Ottawa Carleton Male Choir on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome and the concert is free, but a free-will offering will be taken. Gladstone Clayworks Co-op Pottery Studio at 949B Gladstone Ave. will hold an open house in October.
