The Ottawa Welsh Coral Society presents a concert of Christmas carols in Welsh, English and French at 7:30 p.m. at Bromley Road Baptist Church, 1900 Lauder Drive. The concert features violinist Jolani Domitrovits. Admission is $15. Tickets will be available at the door.

Dec. 2

Canadian Amateur Musicians’ Come Sing Messiah! will take place at Dominion Chalmers United Church, O’Connor at Cooper streets. Join the more than 1,000 singers and listeners for participatory version of Handel’s Messiah. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the rehearsal at 6 p.m. and performance at 8 p.m. Singers should bring their own music. Tickets are available starting Nov. 12. at Book Bazaar, 417 Bank at Frank; Granata Music, 1558 Merivale; The Leading Note, 370 Elgin; and Collected Works, 1242 Wellington. The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers for its Christmas Kettle Campaign from Nov. 24 until Dec. 24. The volunteers will stand at a Cheer Kettle that will be located at all major shopping centres and retail outlets. This year’s goal is $375,000. The Ottawa Humane Society, 101 Champagne Ave. S, is holding its annual SAVE (Staff Animal Veterinary Emergency) Fund holiday sale until Dec. 24. Special gifts for pets and their mowners and other pet lovers will be sold to help raise money for the Fund. Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m to 5 p.m.
