Ottawa Curling Club’s Rachel Homan and her team won the Ontario Junior Curling Championship defeating Guelph’s Clancy Grandy 8-4. Homan’s team avenged an earlier defeat to Grandy, their only loss of the tournament.
It was Homan’s second consecutive championship victory. Her team of Emma Miskew, Laura Crocker, Lynn Kreviazuk outscored Grandy’s team 6-0 in the third and seventh ends, completing a dominant tournament. Homan’s team finished the tournament with a record of 6-1.
Homan’s team will now have their second opportunity to represent Ontario at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. Last year they lost the Canadian final, and the chance to represent Canada at the World Juniors to Kaitlyn Lawes' Manitoba team.
The competition was held at the Teeswater Curling Club.
