The cause of a fire in Little Italy on Jan. 14 that caused $400,000 in damages has been deemed “electrical” and “accidental” by Pierre Savary of the Ottawa Fire Service.
The fire began on the second floor of an apartment building at 173 Preston St. around 4 a.m. Forty firefighters extinguished the blaze.
There were no injuries, though extensive fire damages to the building occurred. A flower shop on the main floor of the building also suffered water damages.
