Ottawa Curling Club wins Canadian junior championships

Rachel Homan and her team continued their dominant year, winning the Canadian junior women’s national championship with a perfect 13 – 0 record.

The team avenged their loss at last year’s national finals as Ottawa Curling Club’s Team Homan beat British Columbia’s Team Sivertson nine to five. The teams were tied at three until the fifth end when Homan seized the lead and cruised to victory with a risky sixth end.

Her team of Emma Miskew, Laura Crocker, and Lynn Kreviazuk also won consecutive Ontario junior curling championships. The men's junior title was also won by an Ontario team from Kitchener.

Team Homan is now heading to the World Curling Championships in Flims, Switerland March 6 – 14.
