Fundraising begins for couple in intensive care

Funds are being collected for a couple who sought to build an Aboriginal health and wellness centre in Centretown after both were seriously injured in a car accident in Hull on Friday.

Beverley Sunday and Joseph Sayer are in intensive care at the Hull Campus Hospital both with a collapsed lung, broken bones and serious head injuries.

Sunday had been in the midst of building an Aboriginal health and wellness centre called HAWK Studio. The studio which is set to open this spring meant to empower all ethnicities to create stronger families and communities. Sunday sought to fuse mainstream workouts like boot camp with Aboriginal culture, emphasizing emotion and spirituality.

The couple have three children. A Facebook group called the "Sunday-Sayer homepage" has been created to track the progress of the couple.

Donations to the couple can be made to the Sunday-Sayer Family Fund trust account at TD Canada Trust. For information on how to donate from another bank you can contact Dawn Maracle at dmaracle@rocketmail.com.
