French Catholic school board appoints new director

The Ottawa French Catholic School Board has appointed a new director of education.

Bernard Roy, the current executive superintendent of education, will replace Lise Bourgeois as the head of the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est.

Bourgeois served as director of the board for seven years and will move on to become the President of La Cité collégiale.

Roy has been associated with the board as a teacher for almost 30 years and was promoted to superintendent in 2005.

He will start his new job as director of Ontario's largest French-language school board starting April 1.
