High school student Kat Hojczyk came with the Worm Factory to the Go Green Expo to teach visitors about worm composting. Hojczyk keeps compost bins and worms at her own house to make fertile soil for her family’s garden.

This year's Earth Hour may have had the world shutting off its lights, but Centretown is doing a lot more than powering down to be eco-friendly in 2010, the year for environmental sustainability.

At Gladstone and Bronson, volunteers can be found at the re-Cycles Bicyle Co-Op helping locals tune up their bikes to get them back on the road, cutting back on  the number of cruising vehicles that cause carbon emissions.

Head back into residential yards and all types of small changes can be found in Centretown, from worm composting, to solar panels, to hanging clean laundry on the line and turning off the dryer.
