Charles Akben-Marchand has announced his resignation as president of the Centretown Citizens Community Association.
Akben-Marchand said in a letter to supporters and community members Thursday morning that he has been offered a position in Somerset Ward Coun. Diane Holmes’s office.
The position of president will be assumed by vice-president Jordan Charbonneau, wrote Akben-Marchand, until Oct. 25 when CCCA members will elect a new president at their annual general meeting.
Akben-Marchand added he plans to stay involved in the community and encourages people to help “keep the CCCA strong.”
According to its website, CCCA is “a volunteer-based organization that seeks to represent and promote the interests of Centretown in Ottawa.”
