Man robs Bank Street shop

Ottawa police are asking for anyone with information about a robbery on Bank Street Thursday evening to come forward.

Just before 9:30 p.m. Feb. 16., a man entered a store in the 400 block of Bank Street, between Waverley and Florence streets.

The man went straight to the store clerk, demanding money, Ottawa Police Service Const. Marc Soucy said.

The suspect, described by police as a white man in his 40s with long dirty-blonde hair, showed the clerk what looked like the barrel of a handgun, according to police. The man then left with an unknown amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspect is still at large, Soucy said.
