Accessibility renovations close Heritage Building main entrance

Construction to improve accessibility to the City of Ottawa’s Heritage Building has led to the temporary closure of its Elgin Street entrance.

The entrance will be closed for the next four to six weeks, during which visitors can access the building, which houses the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame, through the second floor overpass and Lisgar Street entrance.

These renovations are intended to allow easy access to the building for people with disabilities. They are being made according to regulations set out in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act of 2005, which sets the goal of full accessibility throughout Ontario by 2025.
