Police charge 56-year-old man in connection with two Ottawa murders

A 56-year-old man, who has been in custody at the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, according to Ottawa police.

Marc Leduc has been charged in the deaths of Pamela Kosmack and Leanne Lawson, both sex workers, who were found dead at Lincoln Heights Park in 2008 and in Lowertown in 2011, respectively.

“DNA evidence has played a role in the investigation but I am not going to go any further detail in that discussion,” said police chief Charles Bordeleau at a press conference.

Leduc made a brief court appearance today to face the murder charges and is scheduled to be back in court on Mar. 1.
