Police traffic blitz results in over 200 tickets

Ottawa police conducted a day long traffic enforcement blitz downtown on June 13, issuing 209 tickets to drivers and pedestrians.

Plainclothes officers were on the lookout for handheld devices, improper seatbelt use, moving violations, and drivers not following signs.

Traffic cops monitored the intersections of Dalhousie and York streets, Bank Street and Fifth Avenue, Bank Street and Laurier Avenue, and Elgin and Somerset streets.
