An 82-year-old man was pronounced dead after being pulled from a City of Ottawa pool on Wednesday afternoon.
Lifeguards at the Plant Recreation Centre on Somerset Street West gave the man CPR and used a defibrillator.
Paramedics were called to the scene, but were unable to resuscitate the man. Police could not confirm the cause of death.
It is unclear whether the man drowned or had pre-existing medical issues.
An autopsy has been scheduled for today.
The man’s name has not been released.
