CCCA names new president

Thomas McVeigh was elected as the new president of the Centretown Citizens Community Association at the annual general meeting Tuesday night.

McVeigh replaces Jordan Charbonneau, who was president for two years. Charbonneau says he didn’t run for re-election because he wants to focus on completing a master’s degree in public administration at Carleton University.

Charbonneau added that it was time to let someone else have the experience of being president in a group that relies on volunteers.

McVeigh and the current board will be in place for the 2013-14 year.

The CCCA is a group of volunteers who promote the interests of the Centretown neighbourhood.  Members do not need to be residents of Centretown, although they generally have property and business interests in the community.
