Stabbing altercation on O-Train halts service temporarily

The O-Train halted its service today after two men were arrested following a stabbing altercation, according to police and eyewitness reports.

Two men were arrested at Carleton University this afternoon after the altercation occurred at the Carleton O-Train stop around 11:28 a.m.

One man suffered stabbing injuries and had to be transported to a nearby hospital, said Ottawa Police. The other is currently in police custody.

A witness on scene tweeted that a fight took place outside of the Minto Centre, across from the Carleton O-Train stop, in which one man wielded a knife. Four police officers intervened and apprehended the man.

UPDATE: The O-Train has resumed service, according to a Carleton University press release.

The Guns and Gangs Unit was called in to help with the investigation, confirmed Ottawa Police.

UPDATE: Mohamad Abdullah, 20, has been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, common nuisance and causing a disturbance, reported CBC.
