Security tightened on Parliament Hill

Security has been tightened on Parliament Hill, the Canadian Press reported.

Additional screening measures have been put in place, armed guards have been added to the security staff, and public tours during caucus meetings have been cancelled. Those are just some of the changes set to come into place after the shootings at the National War Memorial and Parliament’s Centre Block on Oct. 22, the Canadian Press reported.

Other scheduled changes include combining the House of Commons and Senate security forces, training them to carry firearms, locking buildings after business hours and enhanced security at MP’s constituency offices, according the report.
