120 car-pile up in Michigan leaves man dead

A driver for a Quebec trucking company is dead after a series of major crashes on a Michigan highway, Michigan State Police said.

This morning, a crash quickly turned into a pile-up of approximately 123 cars, said Lieut. Rick Pazder. Included in this incident were trucks carrying fireworks and acid, causing several cars to catch fire.

Twenty two people were injured and the highway was closed for about an hour.

Pazder said he could not confirm whether the man was from Ottawa, despite earlier media reports.
