Plans for a 2015 Pride festival in Ottawa

The Bank Street BIA and members of Ottawa’s LGBTTQ community are presenting a proposal for a 2015 Pride Festival on Thursday.

For the past several summers, Bank Street hosted the week-long festival celebrating love, diversity and inclusion.

But last December its future was in doubt when Capital Pride, the group responsible for organizing the festival, declared bankruptcy. The organization reported debts of $100,000 for 2013-2014 and its brand was damaged by allegations of financial irresponsibility.

Details on plans for the new festival will be released on Jan. 15 11:00 a.m. in a press conference at Ottawa City Hall.
