Two more enter race

Two other contenders have joined the race for Ottawa Centre.

Michal Zeithammel, an engineer by profession, is dipping his toes into politics for the first time.

He is running under the banner of the Ontario Libertarian Party.

A father of four young boys, Zeithammel says he was forced to put his name on the ballot after becoming “concerned about our generation spending irresponsibly, essentially making our children pay for the irresponsibilities.”

The most important issue for Zeithammel – and the Libertarians, he says – is “keeping money closer to the residents” in the community, insteadof sending tax dollars to “disconnected bureaucratic centres like Queen’s Park.”

Kristina Chapman, a graduate of the University of Ottawa, is an Independent candidate.

Her platform includes: assisting new graduates to find employment, decreasing hydro costs, tax breaks for Ontarians with income less than

$25,000, and decreasing wait times in the ER.
