Man arrested for threatening Ottawa’s mayor

A man was arrested Saturday night for uttering threats against Mayor Jim Watson and OC Transpo.

Christopher Bartraw was charged with three counts of uttering threats and three counts of false messages, according to Ottawa Police.

The threats to the mayor and OC Transpo were both groundless, police said. 

Bartraw was arrested at the South Keys Transit Station after OC Transpo security called 911, Ottawa Police said.

Bartraw is expected to appear in court on Jan. 12.
