Gasoline prices are now as low as 79.9 cents at some gas stations in Ottawa and motorists are enjoying the cheapest gas the city has seen in five years.
Drivers were paying an average of $1.26 per litre at this time last year, according to the website Tomorrow’s Gas Price Today.
The 64-per-cent drop in price comes as oil prices continue to drop worldwide.
While Saudi Arabia and other OPEC countries are looking to secure market share and refuse to cut production — a move that would stabilize oil prices—Canadians will continue to enjoy cheap gas.
