A third man is arrested in Ottawa with a terrorism-related charge

The RCMP has arrested and charged another Ottawa man with terrorism-related offences.

Suliman Mohamed has been charged with participating in the activity of a terrorist group. On Jan. 9, twin brothers, Ashton and Carlos Larmond, were charged  with conspiracy to participate in terrorist activity.

“These recent arrests underscore the reality that there are individuals in Ontario and Canada who have been radicalized to a violent ideology, and who are willing to act upon it,” said RCMP Chief Supt. Jennifer Strachan in a press release.

Ottawa Police Services spokesman Const. Chuck Benoit declined to comment, citing the fact it was an ongoing investigation.
